For patients from Lincoln
Orthopaedic second opinion for Lincoln patients
For people in Lincoln who want to understand an orthopaedic diagnosis or their options after treatment, Professor Paul Lee offers face-to-face second opinions at our Sleaford and Grantham clinics.

Your orthopaedic second opinion
Put your symptoms and previous advice in context
A second opinion can be useful when you have been given an explanation but are still unsure what it means for your everyday life. You may be weighing up joint surgery, trying to understand a difficult recovery, or deciding what to ask before further treatment.
Bring a short account of what has changed, what you have tried and what you want to be able to do. The discussion can then connect those priorities with your previous letters, imaging and the findings from the consultation.

Before your appointment
Planning a visit from Lincoln
Appointments are held at MSK House in Silk Willoughby, near Sleaford, or The Keep Clinic in Grantham. We welcome patients from Lincoln, but do not advertise a consultation venue in Lincoln itself.
If your records are with a Lincoln hospital, ask for the relevant consultation letters, scan reports and access to the actual images. Tell the team what is available before booking so they can help you prepare for the review.

Questions to take into the room
- Does the current explanation account for my symptoms?
- What can be learned from the scans I already have?
- What would each possible next step mean for my daily activities?
You will receive a written summary. You can discuss it with your current team; having a consultation does not commit you to treatment with us.

Before arranging your review
Is MSK House the same as The Lincoln Hospital?
No. MSK House is our Sleaford consultation venue. The Lincoln Hospital is a separate hospital. Check the venue on your appointment confirmation.
Can I bring scans arranged by my existing team?
Bring the reports and arrange access to the images where possible. The team can advise what to request. Whether further investigations are useful depends on the clinical review.
